5. What is the mute sensor used for, do we need to use it?
The mute sensor is used to mute the speaker of the Neurosign nerve monitor while the Electrocautery machine is being used by the surgeon. The mute sensor is clipped on to the lead from the Electrocautery machine. If the mute sensor not used the Electrocautery machine interferes with the Nerve monitor and causes loud audio signals to come from the speaker on the nerve monitor.
