This stimulating probe is the most accurate of the three disposable probes but has the least ability to stimulate through a layer of tissue. It is accurate to approximately 0.5mm. In order to stimulate through any tissue covering the nerve, the current must be increased. The probe is designed so that the shaft may have a single bend of up to 30° put in it by the surgeon if using a microscope.
