Stimulator Pod
The Stimulator Pod is an essential component of the Neurosign system, and is shared across the Neurosign 100, 400 and 800 range. It allows the sterile stimulating probe to be connected to the non-sterile Neurosign unit. Two stimulating probes may be connected simultaneously, although usually only one probe will be needed.
It is important that the colour code is followed - blue on the Stimulator Pod to blue on the probe, and white to white. It does not matter whether Probe 1 or Probe 2 on the Stimulator Pod is used.
Electrocautery Mute Sensor
This device detects Radio Frequency signals in the electrocautery bipolar or monopolar cable and disconnects the audio from the monitor while active. Electrocautery injects large currents into the body, some of which is picked up by the Neurosign electrodes. This is amplified in the usual manner, so if this signal were not to be muted, a loud noise would fill the Operating Room or Theatre.
It forms part of the standard Neurosign Package.
