Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation and Neuroimaging in Cognition and Behavior
25th & 26th September 2008

Research Centre of the Institut Universitare de Gériatrie de Montréal, Montréal, Québec, Canada
Affiliated with the University of Montréal

There are still a small number of places available for this event, which has been organised by Magstim in collaboration with Dr. A.P. Strafella (University of Toronto), Dr. O. Monchi (University of Montréal.), and Dr. A. Ptito (McGill University and Rogue Research).

Speakers have been drawn from across the fields of Neuroscience and Neurology, to cover a variety of highly relevant topics in Cognition and Behavior. The two day agenda will reflect the breadth and international scope of this field.

To complement the program there will be demonstrations of related equipment from The Magstim Company and Rogue Research Inc., manufacturers of Brainsight TMS, with other participants still to be confirmed.

The conference will include the following talks:

  • Lesion studies and the functional subdivisions of the frontal lobe - Dr. M. Petrides
  • The role of the frontoparietal cortical areas in perception - Prof. V. Walsh
  • Combined EEG and fMRI data to constrain chronometric single pulse TMS in studies of action - Dr. S. Grafton
  • Modulating decision-making behaviors by noninvasive brain stimulation - Dr. S. Fecteau
  • Motor cortex TMS as a window on the executive brain - Dr. E Wasserman
  • Modulation of central monoaminergic neurotransmission during rTMS - Dr. O. Pogarell
  • TMS/PET studies on dopaminergic system- Dr. S.S. Cho
  • TMS and fMRI studies on behavioral disorders - Dr. Z Nahas
  • Combining TMS with neuroimaging: new insights in human motor control - Dr. H.R. Siebner
  • TMS/PET studies on executive functions – J.H. Ko
  • rTMS and language networks in patients with focal brain lesions - Dr. A Thiel
  • rTMS and fMRI studies on cognition - Dr. J Andoh
  • TBS and other TMS approaches in motor behavior- Dr. R Chen
  • Transcranial magnetic stimulation of the occipital cortex- Dr. M Ptito
  • The long-term effects of sports concussions on motor cortex excitability - Dr. H. Theoret
  • Reflecting on the use of TMS to Study the Human Mirror System - Dr. L Koski

Attendance fees are $183.75 (Student’s rate is $99.75)
