MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – Magstim Group, a global non-invasive and minimally invasive neurotechnology leader, today announces the appointment of Luciën van Os as Chief Technology Officer to lead product and technology development for Magstim TMS, Electrical Geodesics (EGI), Technomed and Neurosign brands. Van Os will lead product technology and manage the Group’s patent portfolio and research collaborations.
“Luciën is globally recognized for his medical device technology leadership at Medtronic, Gambro/Baxter, Sphere Medical, TMSi, Philips, and Ericsson,” said Lothar Krinke, PhD, Group CEO, Magstim Group. “Luciën’s deep experience will accelerate our growth and innovation in neurotechnology markets. On July 1, Magstim Group acquired the product portfolio of Electrical Geodesics, Inc. (EGI) from Royal Philips. Van Os will oversee this High-Density EEG technology division and ongoing collaborations for Magstim Group brands. An engineer by education, van Os brings the Magstim Group years of experience growing technology businesses and building cross-cultural and cross-border collaborations. “These are some of the world’s most trusted neurotechnology brands, now under one umbrella organization,” said Van Os. “I am so excited to lead this technology and collaborate with our network of researchers and scientists. More than ever, their work is changing the course of healthcare and science, and I am honored to bring my strategic and technical leadership experience.”
Magstim and EGI both have a 30+ year history working with clinicians and researchers to advance treatments for mental health and brain disorders and collaborate to advance the field of neuroscience. Innovations from Neurosign are used for interoperative nerve monitoring to help preserve nerves during surgical procedures. Technomed designs and manufactures neurophysiology accessories used for EMG and EEG studies.
Magstim Group Brands Unite As Welcony
According to Krinke, all Magstim Group brands are now united under a new umbrella organization named Welcony. Magstim TMS, EGI, Technomed and Neurosign will continue as independent brands. Operating as Welcony enables integrated brand growth and service through shared resources for research & development, manufacturing and leadership.
