Addiction
Addiction
The effects of repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) on cocaine addiction
In this small pilot study individuals with cocaine addiction were randomly assigned to receive either standard pharmacological therapy (control group, n = 16) or 8 sessions of high-frequency (15Hz) rTMS over the left DLPFC (n = 16).
Addiction
The effects of repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) on smoking cessation
In this randomized, double-blind, sham-controlled study the authors investigated whether 8 sessions of high-frequency (20Hz) rTMS over the left DLPFC could aid smoking cessation in moderately dependent smokers (5-20 cigarettes a day).
Addiction
Long-term outcomes following repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) in cocaine-use disorder (CUD)
This is a retrospective observational study of 284 outpatients (of whom 268 were men) meeting DSM-5 criteria for CocUD.
