Major Depressive Disorder (MDD)
Major Depressive Disorder (MDD)
Intermittent theta burst stimulation (iTBS) versus standard 10Hz repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) in major depressive disorder (MDD)
This study aimed to compare the effectiveness, safety, and tolerability of the standard 10Hz FDA cleared protocol (37-minutes duration) to intermittent theta burst stimulation (iTBS; 3-minutes duration) for treatment-resistant MDD.
Major Depressive Disorder (MDD)
Theta burst stimulation (TBS) over the dorsolateral prefrontal cortices (DLPFCs) in major depressive disorder (MDD)
Data from 221 participants with MDD, across 5 randomized, single/double-blinded, sham-controlled trials were assessed regarding the efficacy of TBS over the DLPFC in terms of response and remission (Hamilton Depression Rating Scale).
Major Depressive Disorder (MDD)
Accelerated repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) in major depressive disorder (MDD)
This study investigated whether accelerated rTMS could be as effective and tolerable as standard duration rTMS in 36 individuals with MDD. Patients were randomized to receive 3000 pulses of 10Hz stimulation to the left DLPFC either once a day (OD; n = 19) or twice a day (TD; n = 17) for a total of 30 sessions.
Major Depressive Disorder (MDD)
12-month follow-up of repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) maintenance therapy in major depressive disorder (MDD)
This 12-month study examined whether monthly rTMS treatments were more effective than observation only in maintaining treatment response to rTMS therapy in non-medicated patients with MDD.
Major Depressive Disorder (MDD)
Accelerated intermittent theta burst (aiTBS) and individualised resting-state functional connectivity (fcMRI) targeting in treatment-resistant major depressive disorder (MDD)
Examine the feasibility, tolerability, and preliminary efficacy of an accelerated, high-dose, fcMRI-guided iTBS protocol for treatment-resistant depression (TRD) termed ‘Stanford Accelerated Intelligent Neuromodulation Therapy (SAINT)’.
Major Depressive Disorder (MDD)
Long-term effectiveness of repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) in major depressive disorder (MDD)
This naturalistic, observational study examined the effectiveness of rTMS in pharmacoresistant MDD over a 12 months follow-up period in 257 patients.
