RESPONSIBLE FOR                         Optimisation of Manufacturing Processes

PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF THE JOB

We are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to help us implement and maintain manufacturing processes that result in high-quality medical devices. The Manufacturing Engineer will also be responsible for process design, operation and implementation.

The successful candidate will be able to improve operational processes in order to maintain efficiency, reduce cost, improve sustainability and maximize profitability. Other necessary Manufacturing Engineer skills include project management ability, commitment to quality and familiarity with safe working practices. If you’re also inventive and meticulous, we’d like to meet you.

Ultimately, you’ll be the one to ensure our production lines and processes work efficiently and effectively to satisfy our customers.

 

DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

·       Develop, configure and optimize manufacturing processes from inception through to start up and certification using recognized validation techniques such as MVP, IQ, OQ and PQ.

·       Organize and manage manufacturing workflows and resources.

·       Optimize facility layouts, production lines and machine operations.

·       Assess current processes, take measurements using recognized techniques such as ranging studies and interpret the data and present to internal stakeholder as and when required.

·       Develop best practices, routines and innovative solutions to improve production rates and quality of output.

·       Resolve issues and delays in production.

·       Train staff in new and existing processes.

·       CAPA (Corrective and Preventative Action) management.

·       Collaborate with other engineers, contractors and suppliers as and when required.

·       Ensure that manufacturing procedures follow safety and environmental regulations.

·       Author work instructions and other technical document as and when required and act as SME when required for the approval of appropriate documents.

·       Provide input to resolve any manufacturing / supplier quality issues.

·       Liaise with suppliers and internal stakeholders when necessary.

·       Working within Quality Management Systems.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

 

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

·       Minimum of HND in an Engineering Discipline, BSc in an Engineering discipline preferable. However, relevant industrial experience will also be considered.

·       Proven background in a manufacturing process engineering role.

·       Proficient with Microsoft Office tools.   

 

EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE

·       Experience of process line development and qualification, preferably to medical device regulatory standards.

·       Experience with Verification and Validation testing and documentation.

·       Experience with basic mechanical engineering and the use of hand tools.

·       Knowledge of a wide range of manufacturing processes traditionally associated with a box-build manufacturing facility.

·       CAPA (Corrective and Preventative Action) management.

·       A basic understanding of Electronic Components and Systems would be an advantage.

·       Experience of working with Quality system and Procedures.

·       Experience of working within a team.
